1. Zombie Pub Crawl
October 13, 5-11 p.m.
This is the 14th year of the Zombie Pub Crawl, certified by the Guinness Book of World Records as the “World’s Largest Gathering of Zombies.” It has a new main location this year: Hall's Island and the Historic Grain Belt Brewery. There will be two stages with live entertainment, from ASAP Ferg to Shaq (as a DJ), and other neighboring bars will also take part, including Elsie's, the 1029 Bar, and Bunny's. Learn more.
2. Harvest Fest & Giant Pumpkin Weigh-Off
Lowell Park, Historic Lift Bridge, Stillwater
This event is all about pumpkins, with the highlight being the great pumpkin weigh-off. Contestants bring pumpkins to the weigh-off, and they must weigh more than 1,500 pounds each. The two-day event also includes a chili bake-off and the great Pumpkin Boat Race. Learn more.
3. Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular
Minnesota Zoo, Apple Valley
Through October 31
This family-friendly event is a new exhibit at the Minnesota Zoo, with more than 5,000 pumpkins lit and displayed in different areas along wooded trails. There will also be displays and sets with Halloween themes. Learn more.
4. Red Wing Arts Festival
Red Wing Arts at the Depot
October 13-14, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
This is a juried art show celebrating their 52nd year bringing together close to 100 different artists. The art show attracts about 16,000 visitors each year. There will also be a stage with musical entertainment and food trucks. Learn more.
5. St. Paul Fall Art Crawl

This is the 25th year of the event. Hundreds of artists open their homes and studios to share their artistry. Learn more.
6. Irving Berlin's Holiday Inn

This Irving Berlin musical is a classic song-and-dance favorite as we enter the holiday season—the story of a couple who love big Broadway numbers so much that they turn their home into an inn where they put on shows celebrating each holiday, from Thanksgiving to the Fourth of July. Learn more.
7. Red Bull Urban Portage
Chain of Lakes, Minneapolis
October 13, 9 a.m.
Free to spectators
Come cheer on competitors as they take on the lakes of Minneapolis on a 10-mile course in canoes, kayaks, or on a stand-up paddle board. The event begins at the Calhoun Executive Center, where racers enter Bde Maka Ska portaging through a challenging terrain at multiple points along the route until they reach the finish line at Theodore Wirth Park.
