TreeHouse highlights teen crisis and triumph at its annual gala
Who, What, and Where: TreeHouse Shine a Light Gala at the Minneapolis Depot, May 19.
Purpose: TreeHouse serves at-risk and hurting youth in the Twin Cities by providing them with programming, mentoring, and service projects.
Song and Dance: Committed, the a capella gospel group who won NBC’s The Sing-Off, delighted the audience with original songs and covers.
see and be seen: KARE-11’s Julie Nelson emceed the event; eight-time Olympic medalist Apolo Anton Ohno spoke. TreeHouse teens also shared their success stories.
Going Once, Going Twice: A week in Sonoma, California; a meet-and-greet with Committed and Ohno; and a his-and-hers package featuring a large-screen TV and jewelry were among the raffle items. The event raised $850,000.
