Taste of Stillwater 2012

Published:

When it comes to the most charming Minnesota towns, Stillwater is surely in the midst. It's on the St. Croix River; it has history; and it hosts community events like Ladies Night Out and Foodies on Foot—with its second annual festival a reason to visit this very weekend.

Taste of Stillwater is a family-friendly, rain or shine outdoor event with a definite neighborly spirit (a portion of ticket sales benefit Valley Outreach, Stillwater’s nonprofit organization feeding and supporting neighbors in need). This Saturday, bring a blanket, chair, or just walk the grounds of Saint Croix Vineyards and Aamodt’s Apple Farm to take in some highlights of what Minnesota's birthplace has to offer.

Taste of StillwaterLift Bridge Brewing Company will be serving up its beers for sampling, 45th Parallel will join in with spirits, and of course host Saint Croix Vineyards—along with nearby newbie Wild Mountain Winery—will be serving up wine, alongside these local restaurants and food trucks. (Note: In addition to the tastings, full-size beverages and food will be available for purchase.)

Food:
• Aamodt's Apple Farm
• Caves of Faribault Cheese
• Culvers
• Mara Mi

• Olive on Tap
• Poorboy Candy
• Rustic Stillwater Pies
• Trinh Food Truck
• The Waffle Van/Bikery du Nord

Vineyard and brewery tours will be available. And you can't miss the music on the main stage: Alison Scott (11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.), Midnight Mo (1-2:30 p.m.), and High & Mighty (3-5:45 p.m.). While listening and tasting, shop the merchant and artisan booths throughout:

Tickets can be purchased online or at Kowalski's Oak Park Heights. 21+ tickets (for tastings) are $20 before July 14 and $30 at the gate. Under 21 tickets (good for one non-alcoholic beverage and a treat sample) are $5 before and $10 at the gate. Kids under three are free. Parking options: Take a shuttle from Kowalski’s Oak Park Heights lot, or park on site. (No pets allowed.)

And if you’re looking to pack in more festival, cross the river and head into Wisconsin, where you can find the four-day River Falls Days taking place July 12-15.
