Twin Cities Auto Show is Kid-Friendly (yes, really!)

Kids can meet the Minnesota Wild mascot Nordy at the Twin Cities Auto Show.

You don’t need to find a babysitter to go to the Twin Cities Auto Show—bring the whole gang! Here are a few reasons why the Twin Cities Auto Show appeals to parents and kids:

Save money: Admission is free for kids 10 and under. (Helping auto enthusiasts get a few dollars closer to buying their dream car.)

Free booster seat checks: On Saturday, March 12, Sunday, March 13, and the following weekend, Saturday, March 19, and Sunday, March 20, accredited safety experts will be at the show doing free booster seat checks. Those interested in making sure their child’s car seat is properly in place can drive up directly outside the Minneapolis Convention Center on Grant Street. A free ticket to the Auto Show will be offered in exchange for a safety check (now that is a deal!) Last year, 123 car seats were checked over the four designated check days—and of those 123 car seats, only four (yes, FOUR!) were installed correctly.

Camp Jeep: Check out the Jeep obstacle course ride, covering over 30,000-square-feet of the show floor. Professional drivers let riders get the feel of real off-road driving as they drive over mountains and logs (within the Minneapolis Convention Center) and provide extreme articulation and suspension capabilities unique to Jeep. This is NOT a simulator—it’s the real thing!

Go Wild: Nordy, the Minnesota Wild mascot, will be at the Toyota booth on Friday, March 18 from 4-6 p.m., and Sunday, March 20 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. (No one knows exactly what type of animal he is (a raccoon-bear?), but his hockey mullet is worth checking out!)

Saint Paul Saints Day: The first 1,000 attendees through the entrance on Sunday, March 13 will receive a free Saint Paul Saints hat, get to meet Mudonna, the infamous mascot pig, and take a swing on the Saints inflatable.

Roll on 18-wheeler, roll on: Go to the SuperAmerica display, next to the massive 18-wheeler tanker truck, and not only see a "big rig" up close, but enter to win free gas for a year.

Meet a Disney star: Olivia Holt, the 18-year-old star of the Disney Channel’s Original Series I Didn’t Do It, Girl vs. Monster, and Disney XD series Kickin’ It (she’s also the new face of Neutrogena, has 4 million Instagram followers, and is working on a recording album) will be at the show on Sunday, March 20.

Meet local radio personalities: Recharge while listening to your favorite stations in the iHeart Radio Listening Lounge. Watch live broadcasts featuring radio personalities from Cities 97, KDWB, ALT93.3, K102, KFAN, KOOL 108 and News Talk AM 1130.

HOURS: Saturdays (March 12 and 19):  10 a.m. – 10 p.m.

Sundays (March 13 and 20):  10 a.m. – 7 p.m.

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday (March 14, 15, 17):  4 – 10 p.m.

Wednesday (March 16): 10 a.m. – 10 p.m.

Friday (March 18):  10 a.m. – 10 p.m.

TICKETS: $12 for adults; $6 for youth ages 11 – 15; and children 10 and under are FREE. All tickets $6 on Wednesday, March 16.

SPONSOR: The 2015 Twin Cities Auto Show is sponsored by The Greater Metropolitan Automobile Dealers Association of Minnesota, Inc. (GMADA). GMADA is an organization of 126 new car and truck franchised dealers in the Greater Minneapolis and St. Paul area.
