For the past 11 years, Chrissy Sarinske has been the special sections writer/editor at Minnesota Monthly and Midwest Home magazines, covering everything from travel, health, and lifestyle features to interior design and building trends. She’s a word nerd with an insatiable curiosity about people and loves camping, reading, drinking craft beer, traveling throughout Minnesota, and organizing get-togethers with friends. Valerie TurgeonValerie Turgeon is the assistant editor for Minnesota Monthly. She was born and raised in the North Star State, but feels like she still has so much more to explore. Her favorite vacation spots in Minnesota include natural elements—watching bald eagles soar in bluff country, floating on a lake up north, or rollerblading on a rural path. Recently, she got her first hiking pack, and after a long winter, is looking forward to testing her endurance and reconnecting with the outdoors on the Superior Hiking Trail.
