Floral Fun: Art in Bloom at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts

Published:

Each spring, I look forward to seeing the Minneapolis Institute of Arts’ (MIA) collection interpreted by floral artists for Art in Bloom. My mom and I have made the trek to the museum for this annual event many times. It's a great excuse to visit again and gives me new perspective on pieces I have seen before.

This year Art in Bloom celebrates 29 years with the theme "Art in the Garden." From Thursday through Sunday next week (April 26-29), visitors can wander the galleries of the Minneapolis Institute of Arts and see the talents of more than 150 floral artists alongside classic and modern works of art.

See how a sculpture, portrait, still life or Chinese artifact looks through the eyes of a florist. The floral displays use color, texture, and shape to reflect a specific piece of art. Visitors can view the floral displays and referenced works of art alongside and amaze at the creativity.
