Holiday Lights Vol. 4

Published:

There's good news for all Minnesotans—including those hitting the road, struggling through snowy commutes, or perhaps others far away and wishing for a touch of home: Minnesota's best have collaborated again to produce a CD of sensational holiday hits.

It's one more way local talent can be a big part of your celebrations and season.

holiday cdEven better: Holiday Lights Vol. 4 proceeds go to charity, benefitting IBEW Holiday Lights in the Park (50+ holiday sculptures and animated displays throughout Phalen Park, nightly)—which in turn supports local non-profits Second Harvest Heartland, Union Gospel Mission, and St. Paul Parks Conservatory.

The list of participating artists is pretty star-studded: From order of the CD, The Blenders, Owl City, Keri Noble, The New Standards, Alison Scott, Chris Koza, John Trones with Joanna Jahn, Lori Line, Dez, Phil Thompson, Lacey Canfield, Lynhurst, True North, Mandy Maietta, and Robert Robinson.

The musicians actually gathered last weekend (yes, during the awful snow storm that made most Minnesotans harbor in their homes) at Pantages Theater in Minneapolis.

The CD is $10, which can be purchased at all Kowalski’s Markets, and includes a free pass to the aforementioned lights display.

Little tip about that: If you're bringing little ones, definitely pack some snacks and activities to distract, as the line can be a little long, and things still progress pretty slowly throughout. Also, Sunday-Thursday nights are a good option: There are smaller crowds, and your car load will be discounted to $8 (normally $10).

You can also preview the music at lightsinthepark.org. But do you really need to? Support a good cause while celebrating the season with Minnesota's best! Easy decision.
