No Place Like Home

Prime and polish makes stylish home decorating affordable

If you’re of the persuasion that your home decorating is never “done,” then there’s a new spot in town for you to get your fix without breaking the bank. Jessica Moriarty, owner of Prime and Polish, opened on the premise that our home should feel “completely ours,” and that it also needs to be attainable. She calls it a “realistic home-décor boutique.” I call it darling!

I was thrilled by the cast metal and plaster taxidermy that rang in at a fraction of the price I expected (around $50), stylish throw pillows that were a quarter of the designer tags, and a selection of guilt-free pick-me-ups, such as candles, stationery, and tabletop wares. (They’d also make terrific hostess gifts; I’ll take one of each, please.) You’ll also find new and rehabbed furniture—chairs, consoles, and coffee tables, among other accent pieces.

Moriarty makes it easy to perfect the place we spend the most important parts of our days.
