Savor the Last Days of Fall in Taylors Falls

Published:

With winter quickly closing in on us here in the Land of 10,000 (soon-to-be-frozen) Lakes, you have one last chance in the next couple of weeks to really embrace the final days of fall. Situated in the hills off the St. Croix River, Taylors Falls is the perfect spot to say sayonara to autumn and see the last bold-colored leaves slowly falling through the air.

Taylors FallsLess than an hour northeast of the Twin Cities, Taylors Falls plays host to many of the reasons we Minnesotans love the outdoors. Bundle up in your fall hats and scarves to explore the bluffs and trails overlooking the river one final time before the snow falls. Maybe even bring a thermos full of hot chocolate and find an appealing rock on which to sit and take it all in.

This coming weekend, you can visit the Valley Artisans Annual Sale at the Old Depot Community Center, followed by the visual/walking tour to learn more about the city’s origins and history. Look out for the oldest public school in Minnesota, built over 150 years ago!

Hungry after all that hiking and climbing? Cozy up around the campfire at Romamaynes Sports Bar and Grill and enjoy a delicious Bloody Mary and charbroiled burger. Even as it gets chilly, it’s nice to sit around “a campfire” one last time.

Whether you want a quick getaway with your sweetie, a fun escape with your friends, or simply a few scenic views and exercise, Taylors Falls will charm you.
