The Twin Cities' Best Ramen

Making a good bowl of ramen (the real stuff, not the cheap, dried brick of noodles and powder that come in the colorful packaging) is both an art and a science. There’s the complex broth filled with unusual ingredients, and the noodles that are essentially an athletic feat to make. This week on MPR’s Moveable Feast, John and Rachel pick out the best places in the Twin Cities to grab a great bowl of ramen when you feel like saving the work for the professionals.

Huffington Post recently published a list of the 10 best ramen shops in the U.S., and Minneapolis’ Moto-I made the list with their inventive broth-less ramen. For those looking to stay inside their comfort zone, Moto-I also carries more traditional ramen options, as well as an awesome sake program.

Masu is known for their creative sushi, but their ramen bowls get just as creative, with options like pork belly and Tonkatsu curry. Tanpopo offers a simple ramen with soba udon noodles and a wide variety of toppings. If you’re looking to take your ramen on the go, One, Two, Three Sushi offers budget-friendly, convenient ramen options in the Minneapolis skyways.
