The Raw Truth

Published:

The raw truth is many Minnesotans are consuming hundreds (or thousands?) more calories than normal this week, what with all the State Fair temptations. So maybe you need The Raw Truth.

Our latest cookbook giveaway is all about the raw food movement. Author Jeremy A. Safron opened two restaurants (one in Maui, the other in San Francisco), and focused on this living foods lifestyle. His tried-and-true work from these raw eateries is featured.

We know what you're thinking—it doesn't sound nearly as inviting as chocolate-dipped cheesecake or a big batch of greasy, salty onion strings. But sit tight. Raw food can be flavorful, too, and Safron is here to prove it.

Other than sharing raw food facts, tools, and techniques, this book offers up Creamy Carrot-Ginger Soup, salad dressings like Spicy Papaya-Lime, and even lasagna. So if you're interested in tackling these recipes—whatever the reason—please leave a comment below sharing your favorite Fair indulgence (or homemade treat, if you stay away). Entries accepted until Thursday, September 1st, at 4 p.m.
