Drink of the Week: Meritage's Pimm's Provincal

Meritage pours an unexpectedly wintery cocktail.

As the holidays approachm the twinkle lights deck the city streets adding to the festive array of holiday spirits. Small snowflakes catch and throw the lights before dissolving on the window panes like puffs of cotton candy. It seems like every soul and every thing is cast in a kinder, prettier light.

There are few drinks quite as pretty as the beauties inside the Meritage oyster bar. The tall glasses have a sexy coup curve that are also easy to elegantly drink from. (I can't be the only person who has a propensity for spilling martini glasses down the front of me - even before a single drop has been drunk.)

Now, Pimm's No. 1 may seem a summer spirit, but the herby English sipper is actually meant for the colder months in this sipper. The Pimm's Provinçal ($11.50) is mixed with lightly floral, lavender-infused Bombay Sapphire and finished with elderflower and cherry bitters, the result is a dolled up for the holidays, sophisticated beauty. It pairs spectacularly with winter white, raw oysters, and peace on earth.
