21st Annual Minnesota Monthly Food & Wine Experience

Get your wine glass ready: Spring is on the horizon, and that means it’s time for the most delicious weekend of the year. On March 7 and 8, the Minnesota Monthly Food & Wine Experience will showcase the best of gourmet cuisine and drink, highlighting some of the Twin Cities’ top restaurants and companies, plus wines and beers from all over the globe. It’s a foodie’s dream day: All the things you’ve been meaning to try are under one roof, so no more excuses for not having tasted French fare from Barbette or a handful of sweet-chili chips from Way Better Snacks.

The weekend kicks off with Friday night’s Grand Red Tasting at the Champions Club at Target Field, an intimate, high-end sipping session featuring red wines from around vineyards around the world (tickets available at the Food & Wine Experience site).

Saturday and Sunday, head to the Metropolitan and Legend’s Clubs of Target Field to sample bites from local chefs and meet local and national winemakers, craft brewers, and culinary personalities. Wine seminars each day will highlight unique varietals–and you may even find a new favorite (tickets are available at the Food & Wine Experience website, and fill out a survey to get free Metro Transit passes to ensure a safe ride).

It’s an opportunity for a weekend of fun, friends, and food, all for a good cause (proceeds go to Minnesota Public Radio). And taking in sparkling views of the skyline and baseball diamond as you sip on spirits will serve as a reminder that, yes, a thaw is on the way.
