Fun at the 2nd Annual Slice of the Twin Cities


From pan style pizza to wood fired, there were 11 local pizzerias at the 2017 Slice of the Twin Cities event

More than 800 guests enjoyed Minnesota Monthly’s second annual Slice of Twin Cities event, on November 5, at Minnetonka Orchards, presented by Country Financial and Twin City Fireplace & Stone. From pan style pizza to wood fired creations, attendees sampled pizza from 11 participating pizzerias, exploring new recipes, as well as family favorites.

With charcuterie from HoneyBaked Ham, fresh salad from Lakewinds Food Co-op, and cheese platters from Caves of Faribault, there were endless flavors and something to make everyone in the family happy! To top it off, attendees sampled delectable sweet treats, such as brownies from Cast & Cru Restaurant, topped cookies from Country Cupboard and seasonal favorites from Nothing Bundt Cakes.

21+ attendees received a Woodford Reserve tasting glass to enjoy Strongbow Hard Apple Cider, Day Owl Wine and Line 39 Wine, in addition to tastings of Woodford Reserve. Throughout the event, all enjoyed live entertainment from Great Songs Music, sponsored by OBGYN West.

Attendees sampled pizzas grilled onsite with Uuni Ovens and Big Green Eggs, and were able to watch the Big Green EGGsperts in action with a grilling demonstration including whole turkeys and pineapple upside-down cake.

Families played games in the Kinderberry Hills Kids Zone, enjoyed hayrides around the orchard, corn mazes, and slurped on Youngstedt’s root beer floats. Jeff Belzer’s showcased the newest line of Kia’s, along with flavored sparkling cider tastings. And of course, Cameron’s Coffee was on hand for a quick warming cup of coffee, with donut and pumpkin spice flavors.
