Gather By D'Amico Hosts Patisserie 46 Pastry Chef

While the Walker Art Center is nationally renowned for its beautiful and unique modern art, a lesser-known feature of this architectural gem is its food. Gather By D’Amico, the museum’s onsite restaurant, features a menu of small plates, select wines and specialty cocktails whose caliber matches that of the Walker’s magnificent art. In collaboration with Gather’s permanent chef Josh Brown, the restaurant features a guest chef every month who creates signature plates highlighting his/her expertise.

The announcement of August’s guest chef has sweet-tooths rejoicing: Chef John Kraus, award-winning pastry chef and founder of Minneapolis’s favorite French bakery, Patisserie 46, will come to Gather this month. To meet the pastry wizard himself, stop by Gather on Thursday, Aug. 6 from 5-9 p.m. when Chef Kraus will offer samplings of his new menu items and mingle with restaurant guests. The chef’s upcoming menu additions include sous vide apricots with tarragon ice cream and pecan crumble, and roasted plums with yogurt ice cream.
