MnMo Editor Rachel Hutton Talks Vikre Distillery on MPR's "Moveable Feast"

On the heels of the brewpub trend is a new uprising in spirits—as legislation has made it easier to get into the distilling business, a few new distilleries have cropped up. This week, Rachel and John discuss Vikre Distillery, a recent addition to Duluth’s Canal Park.

Founded by Joel and Emily Vikre, this distillery makes aquavit and gin and has a definite Scandinavian vibe. Gins come flavored with juniper, spruce, cedar, and more, and flights are available for tasting a variety of spirits.

Housed in an old brick warehouse, the taproom’s industrial décor is spare but chic, making for a classy spot to hang out and sip an inventive cocktail on your next vacation up north. To hear the full podcast, check out the Moveable Feast site.
