Moveable Feast: MnMo editor Rachel Hutton and MPR Classical’s John Birge pay tribute to a few hard working nonprofits

Published:

MnMo editor Rachel Hutton and MPR Classical's John Birge are honoring Labor Day by paying tribute to a few of the hard-working nonprofits serving youth, seniors, and the chronically ill through food. One such organization, Roots for the Home Team, trains young people from ethnically diverse and challenged communities to grow veggies and develop recipes. The final products are sold at Target Field during Minnesota Twins' weekend home games. The nonprofit Store to Door delivers groceries to seniors, blossoming meaningful relationships between its volunteers and customers. And Open Arms prepares fresh meals tailored to the nutritional needs for patients who have cancer, HIV/AIDS, and other serious health conditions.
