Beat the Heat with Spirited Frozen Treats

Published:

FireLake Grill House & Cocktail Bar Downtown Minneapolis

The kids are not the only ones who enjoy a frozen treat. With the summer swelter in full effect, FireLake Grill House & Cocktail Bar in downtown Minneapolis launched cool and refreshing Boozicles to help grown-up guests beat the heat with frozen spirited treats.

The culinary team at FireLake gathered inspiration from old school cocktails, reimagining them into frozen riffs on sweet and fruity classics. Boozicle flavors include Piña Colada, Strawberry Margarita, Mojito, Mudslide, Peach Sangria and Grasshopper.

Each Boozicle has about the same amount of alcohol as a regular/unfrozen cocktail and is made with equivalent mixers. The Piña Colada, for example, contains 1.5 oz. white rum, 1 oz. coconut milk, 1/2 oz. simple syrup, 1 oz. pineapple juice and 1/2 oz. lime juice and zest. Other Boozicles include touches of fruit such as diced peaches in the Peach Sangria, strawberry puree in the Strawberry Margarita, and mint leaves are muddled into the Mojito-cicle. The Mudslide gets its chocolaty flavor from Godiva Chocolate Liqueur.

The Boozicles are $7 a pop and available through Labor Day so you can kick back with a cold one throughout the summer.

FireLake Grill House & Cocktail Bar is located at
31 S. 7th St, Minneapolis, MN 55402
