Celebrate Earth Day

Happy Earth Day! Looking for a few ways to improve your daily household carbon footprint? Here are a few ways:

Hair care

Trade in your usual hair products for Intelligent Nutrients Pureluxe Shampoo and Conditioner.

Intelligent Nutrients uses certified organic ingredients, 100% plant fragrances—never synthetic. There’s nothing toxic, plasticizing, metallic, or scary
in their products (I love this!). They combine plant wisdom with the latest in scientific technology, creating wildly effective, functional, and uncompromising products. Lemongrass, ylang ylang, and geranium combine for an uplifting and refreshing experience that leaves your hair hydrated, shiny, and healthy,

Household cleaners

Wholefoods is offering 50% off green cleaners to celebrate Earth day , and encourage customers to make earth friendly choices. As of April 22, 2014, household cleaning products must meet the baseline (orange) standard, which means no ingredients with significant environmental or safety concerns like phosphates or chlorine. That’s a good deal for the earth and your wallet!

Recycle

Start composting instead of throwing it all away! A significant percentage of garbage we send to the landfill is food scraps and lawn clippings that could easily be composted. The Recycling Association of Minnesota works with local businesses and governments to bring area residents inexpensive compost bins. Check out their website for locations, prices, and tips on composting.

Regardless of how you celebrate today, it’s the choices you make on a daily basis that has an impact. Think green and reduce, reuse, and recycle.
