Full Fashion Panic
The 14th annual Full Fashion Panic runway show is presented as part of the long-running Mechademia, an academic conference dedicated to the Japanese art forms of manga and anime. Held on the conference's third day, the show explores the connections between fashion and anime, manga, and pop culture via collections by several alternative, independent designers. Taking inspiration from Japanese street styles and a science fiction theme, designers will showcase looks featuring bold prints, vibrant colors, over-the-top styling, unisex garments, and textured fabrics. As usual, the show is directed by Minneapolis designer Samantha Rei, known of-late as a contestant on the 16th season of Project Runway.
When: Sunday, September 24 at 3 p.m. (doors at 2:30 p.m.), Q&A to follow)
Where: Minneapolis College of Art and Design, 2501 Stevens Ave., Minneapolis
Tickets: $15

Last year’s 10th annual show featured a wide array of handmade fashions from ten local and national lines that raised the bar of innovation, inspiration, and quality for Twin Cities fashion and beyond.
