On the Go: The Travel Beauty Bag

Published:

As I’m packing my bags for my Hawaiian spring break, I realized there are a few go-to travel cosmetics that help me travel a little lighter—but without sacrificing the glamour that comes with traveling somewhere new.

Here’s what I can’t live without:

Aveda Inner Light Tinted Moisturizer
No foundation ever comes on vacation with me. I love that Inner Light is oil-free and has an SPF of 15 (I still wear lots regular sunscreen, though.). It provides just the perfect amount of coverage and blends easily—doesn’t feel too cakey under tropical sun.
NARS The Multiple
I love the versatility of this product. Somehow it manages to have the perfect texture for eyelids, cheekbones, and lips. I’ve used, and liked, both South Beach, an apricot-bronze, and Orgasm, the line’s most infamous shade of pink. It can even be smoothed into the collarbone and décolletage.

A little gel eyeliner (MAC Blacktrack) and mascara (L’Oreal Voluminous) and my eyes are good to go.

MAC Lipglass
But for when monochrome just won’t do on my face (I can’t totally rid myself of the beauty-junkie gene just because I’ve changed locations) I pack a lip color with a little more punch. I prefer gloss rather than a lipstick so it doesn’t melt in my bag. I love red lipgloss—it pairs perfectly with a pair of oversized sunnies.
