SnowGRADE Tomorrow!

One of my favorite pop-up shopping events (I can’t get enough of this concept, still) was NORTHERNGrade at Architectural Antiques. Even though it was menswear and outdoor gear and all kinds of things that do not necessarily fall into my personal demographic (the beaver-fur can coozies come to mind), I ate it up—and so did my husband. Apparently a lot of people felt the same way, because the coordinators—Pierrepont Hicks and J. W. Hulme—have pulled together the winter brother event, SnowGRADE, and it’s happening this Saturday.

Architectural Antiques will be chock-full of its usual, fabulous salvaged goods, and set up among them will be all USA-made vendors, including Red Wing Shoes, Greenwich Vintage (pristine Pendleton and other American men’s apparel, plus classic taper haircuts from one of the owners, barber Mustache Mike), Golden Age Design (incredible midcentury furnishings and home décor), Faribault Woolen Mills (Read my piece about them), and more. Here are a couple preview pictures:

Plus, there will be super cool hipstery workshops, like how to care for your axe from Best Made Co., waxing canvas tote bags with BlackBlue and J. W. Hulme, butchering a rabbit with the executive chef from Bachelor Farmer (a lesson from a James Beard Award nominee!), brewing your own beer from Northern Brewer, and more. There will be tons of vendors I didn’t mention here, plus I happened to have had a sneak peek at an item or two that will be making their debut at the shop, and you won’t want to miss them—promise.

There will also be food from Clancey’s and spirits from Phillips Vodka, and more great shopping than you can imagine. If you struggle to find great gifts for the men in your life, plan to stock up here.

12 to 8 p.m., Architectural Antiques, 1330 NE Quincy St., Mpls.
