Mobile Fashion Truck Event Coming to Minneapolis

The food truck craze is in full swing in the Twin Cities. It was only a matter of time before fashion followed suit. This Friday, Minneapolis hosts its first fashion truck event. Dubbed “A Night of Glamour,” the event features five local fashion trucks selling everything from summer dresses and jewelry to lingerie, and erotic gifts. They include clothing and accessories vendors Style A Go-Go, Flaunt, and the Fashion Mobile; brand-new truck the Uncommon Loon, which offers thrifted goods; and erotic boutique Pie Essentials–its tagline, “a slice of naughty,” which will be doing $25 merchandise giveaways throughout the night.

Can’t make it this weekend? There’s more to come: The Uncommon Loon will appear at the Lake Hiawatha Neighborhood Festival on August 6, and Pie Essentials pops up next at the Junk Market on August 9 alongside more than 100 vendors at Towne & Country Shopping Center in Burnsville (1998 Cliff Rd., E.). Style A Go-Go will also be present at upcoming Little Mekong Night Markets in St. Paul (Aug. 16, Sept. 6 & Sept. 21). Flaunt hosts a summer sale party at its Roseville studio (1950 W. County Rd. C) on August 13 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. with 30 to 50 percent off, a DJ, appetizers, and giveaways. Also of note: Most of the shops let you book the trucks for events and host indoor trunk shows, and some, like Pie Essentials and the Fashion Mobile, also have online shops.

And if you’re planning on hitting Macy’s Glamorama that night, plan to get downtown a little early to check out the sale. You never know, you just might find the perfect statement jewelry piece.

5-9 p.m. Fri., Aug. 31. Ramada lot, 41 N 10th St., downtown Minneapolis.
