As Thanksgiving rolls around, so do hundreds of shopping opportunities to prepare you for the holiday season. These local retailers are offering a slew of Black Friday and Small Business Saturday sales that can’t be beat. Happy Turkey Day!

Friday: The MIA is offering 20% off all purchases in their store, which includes vintage Italian clothing and accessories features in the “Italian Style: Fashion Since 1945” exhibit, between 6 a.m. and 7 a.m. only. Friday: The American Swedish Institute invites you to a cozy morning enjoying free admission at the museum, sitting in the warmth of a bonfire, and sipping hot cocoa and pepparkakor in the Holiday Square. Friday: They say that pet owners and their pets often resemble each other—it was only a matter of time before they began dressing to match. Friday and Saturday: Covered in Uptown is offering numerous Black Friday deals. Besides enticing you in with custom coffee drinks from Elite Espresso, the merchandise is 20% off until noon, and 20% off for all of Small Business Saturday. Friday and Saturday: b. resale plans to open an hour early for those on the hunt for great deals. There will be complimentary mimosas for the early risers, with 20% off all goods. Friday and Saturday: MidModMen and the surrounding businesses on University are getting in the spirit of the season with a Block Friday, Record Day, and Small Business Saturday sales. Friday through Sunday: Caribou Coffee is rolling out a special Black Friday drink to keep your spirits bright through your shopping battles. The Mocha Me Crazy has espresso, steamed milk, dark chocolate chips, and milk chocolate syrup, and it’s topped with—get this—chocolate whipped cream. (Multiple locations, cariboucoffee.com)

Friday through Sunday: Stephanie’s will be offering 25% off everything in the store, including jewelry and handbags that aren’t usually offered at a discount rate. There will also be several racks of fall merchandise marked at 50% off. TeaSource will provide tea and chai shortbread. Friday through Monday: Parc Boutique is offering deals both online and in-store, with drinks and snacks at both store locations. Saturday: Beginning this weekend, Crystal House Boutique in Coon Rapids is hosting four Silver & Gold Saturdays” leading up to Christmas. Each Saturday features a different highlight, and this series will eventually culminate in a Christmas Eve sale with 50% off. Saturday: Lily and Violet Boutique is celebrating Small Business Saturday with a few snacks, some Bailey’s to put a spring in your step, and dresses and gifts galore. Spend over $200 and you’ll get 25% off your purchase, and no matter what you buy, Lily and Violet will throw in a free gift. Saturday: The shops of the North Loop neighborhood of Minneapolis are coming together to celebrate the season with free gift card giveaways, carolers, entertainment, and tons of holiday deals. (northloop.org)
