Launching Aug 10: Nordstrom Signature and Caroline Issa Collection: Nordstrom is collaborating with designer Caroline Issa on a collection of menswear-inspired looks for fall and winter. Classically masculine styles are reinterpreted with feminine silhouettes and textures in order to create fresh and innovative fashion. Floral patterns found throughout the collection evoke an English garden motif. The collection will be available exclusively in-store and online at Nordstrom, and prices range from $345 to $3,495. Aug 10-12: BlackBlue 5-Year Blowout Sale Part II: The Selby clothing store is celebrating its fifth year in business with a show of appreciation for its customers. After learning that many missed out on the store’s previous summer sale, owner Steve Kang decided to roll out even more deals for round two. Take 60-90% off tons of merchandise from the past five years, both in-store and online. Although primarily stocking men’s wares, the store features a limited collection of women’s merchandise from brands like Barbour and Gitman Vintage. (614 Selby Ave., St. Paul, blkblu.com)

Aug 11: AlwaysMod Modern Design Series with Indulge & Bloom: This month’s incarnation of AlwaysMod’s monthly series focuses on floral arranging techniques. Design experts from Indulge & Bloom will help you create a custom floral arrangement with the purchase of a vase. ittala Aalto vases are discounted by 25% during the event and one prizewinner will receive an ittala vase with an Indulge & Bloom floral decoration for free. Aug 13: Emma Berg/Christian Joy fashion show: Two up-and-coming designers—local Emma Berg and New Yorker Christian Joy—will present a collaborative collection inspired by the night’s event at the Walker: International Pop. From 6-10 pm, the free event will explore the evolution of the Pop movement, mixing visual art, fashion, music, and film for a one-of-a-kind evening on the museum’s picturesque rooftop terrace. Aug 13-16: Veronica Beard Pop-up Shop at Grethen House: Sisters-in-law Veronica Miele Beard and Veronica Swanson Beard launched their sportswear brand in 2010 with the commitment to blend designer elements with wear-ability and ease. The brand and the store share an elegant aesthetic and family-run focus, so their collaboration is only fitting. Aug 14-16: Twin Cities Premium Outlets One-Year Anniversary: The Eagan outlet complex, which provides exclusive deals on brands such as J. Crew, Calvin Klein, Banana Republic, and more, is celebrating one year since its opening. Events throughout the weekend include fashion shows, live music, prize giveaways, food, and a live radio broadcast. The first 200 people in line on opening day will receive a gift. Aug 14: Boutique Pop-up Collective at the Shoppes of Arbor Lakes: Featuring merchandise from four different local boutiques, this permanent pop-up shop, opening today, will infuse the chain-heavy retail center with some regional flavor. The shop will feature affordable, eclectic, and bold clothing and accessories that will give women a wide array of retail options in one store. Aug 15: Faribault Woolen Mill 150th Anniversary Celebration: Taking place at the historic mill on the Cannon River, this celebration includes a marketplace featuring Faribault Woolen Mill merchandise at discounted prices. In addition to live music, food, and giveaways, the event will also feature “The Running of the Sheep,” a petting zoo, and a silent auction that benefits Habitat for Humanity. Aug 15: GENT Cuts & Grooming Grand Opening and Fundraiser: The men’s salon, opening a new location in Edina, is celebrating with a weeklong fundraiser event. Throughout the opening week, GENT is offering free haircuts with the chance to make a $10 donation to the Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota. Aug 16: Loring Alley Rally & Made Here Market: On recurring Sundays throughout August, this daylong event features an outdoor “made here” market with art and crafts from local vendors.
