Aug 19: Makers Alongside Hackwith: stacking rings by Kiki Koyote: For its Makers Alongside series, Hackwith Design House founder Lisa Hackwith collaborates with a different maker every month on a new product made exclusively for HDH. This month’s featured product is a set of stacking rings made in collaboration with designer Kris Singleton of Kiki Koyote. Each Makers Alongside product is made in limited quantity and is available only on HDH’s website. (hackwithdesginhouse.com)

Aug 20: Covered/Uncovered: Idun x the Nu Project at Idun: The Nu Project is a result of husband-and-wife team Matt Blum and Katy Kessler’s aim to represent women’s bodies “honestly” through nude photos untainted by photoshop or makeup. This event celebrates the release of volume two of their photo books, which feature over 200 women across three continents. Blum and Kessler will give a presentation about their products at the event, which also includes a nude photo booth and a glimpse at their new work. (Idun, 495 Selby Ave., St. Paul, facebook.com)

Aug 20: a&bé bridal Anniversary Party & Fashion Show: The Minneapolis bridal shop is celebrating its first anniversary with a day-long party. Come for some sweet treats from 5:30-8 pm, a fashion show at 6:30, and prize drawings at 7. Giveaways include a prize of $1000 to put toward a wedding gown, a free photo session with a professional photographer, free wedding day calligraphy, a free bouquet from Whimsy Designs, and more. a&be is also hosting a Sarah Seven trunk show following the party, August 21-22. Aug 20-22: Flaunt Accessories Back to School Sale: Flaunt is celebrating the season with great deals on clothing and accessories. This month’s occasional sale includes a DJ, food trucks, giveaways, and workshops from Flaunt’s local vendors, including Belle Via, 212 Designs, and Inwood Designs. Aug 21: TOMODACHI x mt tape Art Exhibit + Launch Party: The Japanese toy store, along with Public Functionary art space, asked 18 artists to use mt masking tape to make an original art piece in their medium. The event, which showcases their works, will also feature an interactive urban planning art activity with Place It’s James Rojas, complimentary refreshments, an in-store DJ, and more. Aug 22: Style A Go-Go Pop-up Shop at Second Debut: The fashion truck brings its of-the-moment looks and accessories to thrift store Second Debut, letting shoppers create outfits that juxtapose old with new. An offshoot of Goodwill, Second Debut works to prepare Minnesotans for work through providing job readiness classes, job search activities, and workplace training in addition to clothing and accessories to wear at work. Aug 23: Wild Ruffle Pop-up: Wild Ruffle loves giving back to its community. In addition to showcasing fashion and accessories from several local brands, the shop donates a percentage of its profits to charitable organizations.
