May 10: Beyond Bollywood at Minnesota History Center: History Flirt, Minnesota Historical Society’s new free happy hour event, is spotlighting Indian American culture this week. The event will feature traditional Indian food, clothing made with Indian textiles, sari-tying tutorials, Bollywood dance tutorials, and a pop-up boutique by Khazana. May 11: Heritage Manufacturing in Minnesota: Minnesota brands Faribault Woolen Mill Co., and Nordic Ware will discuss what it takes to be heritage manufacturers in Minnesota. Presented by the American Craft Council, this event is part of the larger Library Salon Series, which is a compilation of free public presentations that explore a variety of crafts and creations. May 11: Troentorp and Maguba Trunk Show: The American Swedish Institute is partnering with two clog makers to celebrate Swedish fashion. May 12-14: Janis Kerman Jewelry Design Event and Trunk Show at Max’s: The Toronto-based jewelry artist is revamping old pieces while showcasing new ones. Her time in Minnesota will be split between trunk shows open to the public and consultations by appointment only. Individuals who have previously purchased Kerman’s jewelry can create a custom design plan to update their pieces by integrating new materials with old.
