Hazel & Rose host a fashion event this weekend that combines sustainable fashion with vintage goods.

This week marks both Fashion Week in Minnesota and Fashion Revolution Week, a week dedicated to raising awareness of sustainable, ethical fashion practices. Read on for highlights from both events and more: 

Clothier Design Source Sustainable Fashion Panel & Factory Tour:

Local manufacturer, Clothier Design Source, hosts a panel discussion and factory tour in honor of Fashion Revolution, a global movement calling for greater transparency in the fashion industry that asks the question, “Who Made My Clothes?” The panel will spotlight local women thought leaders making waves in ethical fashion and how they are transforming the industry for the better, from design to production. (RE) Generation: Student Design Showcase 

The Weisman Art Museum hosts its annual student showcase, (RE) Generation, featuring designs by students from the University of Minnesota's Apparel Design program made from recycled materials. Inspired by WAM’s exhibition Vanishing Ice, each student will present a ready-for-the-runway garment, focused on reusing and recycling of material. By considering all stages of production from material, construction, consumer use, and eventual disposal, these designers hope to shine a light on the ecological cost of the fashion industry and ultimately make changes for a healthier planet. Wednesday, April 25 from 7-10 p.m. @ Weisman Art Museum, 333 E. Cake Plus-Size Resale Presents: Fat Festival Fashion

Who says festival style is just for size twos? The fab team at Cake Plus-Size Resale will celebrate body positivity while presenting music festival looks, just in time for Soundset and Basilica Block Party. Stay for the pop-up shops, food truck snacks, and good vibes. Free admission. FGI-MSP Presents: Accelerating Your Brand: Media, Styling & Exposure

Local fashion industry experts, including shoe designer Marion Parke, lifestyle expert Doug Marshall, and Culture Piece Magazine editor-in-chief Maya Clark, will talk about how to build your brand through media, styling, and promotion in this panel event presented by Fashion Group International's Minneapolis-St. Paul chapter. Learn best practices and ask questions in a Q&A to follow, and enjoy bites and sips. Wednesday from 6:30–9 p.m. @ The Bachelor Farmer, 50 N. 2nd Ave., Minneapolis; tickets are $35–$50 at eventbrite.com

Studio Progressive

Get an inside peek into the working studios of several local fashion makers at this interactive, immersive event at the Northrup King Building. View and shop new spring collections by designers including Strey Designs, Karen Morris Millinery, ILO Studio, ACG, Tessa Louise, and Foat Design. Plus, see their processes, view looks on live models and a performance art presentation, touch raw materials, and talk to the designers themselves. Thursday from 5–10 p.m. @ Northrup King Building, 1450 Van Buren Ave. NE, Ste. 211, Minneapolis; tickets are $15 at eventbrite.com

Art in Bloom Fashion Show & Luncheon: 

Works of art will come to life on models dressed in living floral designs inspired by paintings in the museum as part of a pop-up fashions how during the Minneapolis Institute of Art's annual Art in Bloom event, which pairs floral arrangements with famous works of art. View the floral couture close-up during a show, which takes place in the museum's galleries, and see them take the stage with the paintings that inspired them during a sit-down fashion show in the Pillsbury Auditorium. The Price of Our Clothes Exhibition:

In addition to the environmental impacts of the fashion industry, there’s also a human cost to the fashion industry. On April 24, 2013, the Rana Plaza garment factories in Bangladesh collapsed, leaving 1,134 workers dead. In response, local artist Rachel Breen collaborated with poet Alison Morse on The Price of Our Clothes, an installation of evocative mixed-media artwork, powerful sound pieces, poems, and performances intended to encourage contemplation about our relationship with the people make our clothes. Ends Friday @ Perlman Teaching Museum’s Braucher Gallery, Carleton College, 320 3rd St. E., Northfield, carleton.edu

Black Hearts Ball:

Local designers Tim and Thom Navarro—aka TIM+THOM—have been presenting their unique vision of inclusive, representational fashion since first debuting their Black Hearts Ball fashion event in 2014. Every year since, they've featured an eclectic mix of local designers, but emerging talents and established names, in a series of theatrical presentations set to the music of live opera singers. This year's event promises to be bigger and better than ever, with full runway collections from Samantha Rei of Project Runway fame, Yessenya by Bris Carbajal, Ramadhan by Rammy Mohammed, and more, plus a gallery-style presentation of Ivan Idland's unique, beautiful menswear. HAMMS Event 2018:

The 6th annual HAMMS Event—short for Help a Minnesota Maker Succeed—is a Minnesota-made market with a twist: Up to $5,000 in event ticket sales and donations will be awarded to one of the participating makers to invest in their business. Shop goods from 30 makers including StormSister Spatique, Still Kickin, Jovy Rockey Jewelry, and My Naptime Jewelry, and enjoy local beer, food, and spirits from City House's new spring menu before it opens to the public on May 1. Hackwith Design House x Eileen Fisher Renew Event

St. Paul-based women's clothing line, Hackwith Design House, hosts an event in partnership with Eileen Fisher’s sustainable side project, Eileen Fisher Renew, at its St. Paul studio. The Collective 2018:

Workshop series LAB is back with another edition of the Collective, a curated day of shopping from local brands and discussions led by local business owners. The event offers attendees and local creatives the chance to experience some of the Twin Cities' best brands in person—and learn about topics such as perfection paralysis, entrepreneurship, and creating digital content from names such as Eric Dayton, the Golden Rule owner Erin Duininck, and Hennepin Made's Jackson Schwartz. This year's free event features pop-up shopping from 39 local makers including Willful Goods, Timber & Tulip, True Ethic, Still Kickin, Spot Spa, Neal Jewelry, Minny & Paul, and the debut of Wit & Delight's new stationery line. Saturday from 11 a.m.–5 p.m. @ Loring Social, 1629 Hennepin Ave., Minneapolis, labmpls.com

Global Fashion, Local Flair:

Local fashionistas spotlight their favorite designers at this globally inspired celebration of fashion at Galleria. The event includes live modeling of curated looks from Galleria boutiques dugo, Big Island Swim & Surf, and Roe Wolfe, featuring pieces by local designer Allison Quinnell's new label, Slate Collective. Exchange style tips with fellow fashion lovers with sips and snacks while taking in pop-up shopping. $5 from every ticket sold gets donated to the Women’s Foundation of Minnesota. Saturday from 1–3 p.m. @ Galleria, Edina; tickets are $10 at eventbrite.com

Local Motion Closing Party:

After 33 years of business, Uptown retail fixture Local Motion is closing. Owner Barbara Heinrich’s store was one of the first Twin Cities stores to carry local designers, such as Kokoon, before it became hip. While she’d later stock fashions by small designer labels from the east and west coasts, local fashion has always been the bedrock of Local Motion. Innovations Fashion Show: 

Fashion Revolution MN and Sol Inspirations present the Innovations Fashion Show, which an annual fashion show dedicated to showcasing sustainable, ethical, and eco-friendly fashions. Student designers will compete in a series of eco-design challenges, and local stylists will create high-fashion looks out of secondhand clothing and accessories. The event also features a showcase of clothing and accessories from slow-fashion designers, fair-trade labels, and sustainable brands including Slate Collective, Spoils of Wear, and Way the Label, and an ethical fashion pop-up shop. Saturday from 6-9 p.m. @ Vandalia Tower, 550 Vandalia St., St. Paul, get tickets at innovationsfashionshow.com

Hazel & Rose presents Circa Now:

Then on Sunday, Hazel & Rose hosts Circa Now, a fashion show at Able Seedhouse + Brewery along with several local vintage brands, including the Golden Pearl Vintage, The Keep, Moth Oddities, Tandem Vintage, Arlee Park, and Thrift Stylist, marrying vintage, thrifted, and contemporary sustainable fashion. Minneapolis Craft Market:

Shop modern crafts from local makers at this event curated by Minneapolis Craft Market, an ongoing series of markets popping up at breweries and farmers' markets each month. Cliché Presents Crosswalk: Pep Rally

Culture Piece Magazine presents New Aged Noir:

The event also features an interactive art piece put together by the magazine's staffers, live music, and an all-POC lineup of stylists, models, and talent.
