Tory Burch Opens First MN Store at Galleria on Friday

Following preppy clothing chain Vineyard Vines grand opening last weekend and Free People in July, Galleria continues its string of high-profile store openings with this weekend’s unveiling of Minnesota’s first Tory Burch store. It will be the 180th store worldwide for the brand, which until now, was only found locally at Nordstrom at the Mall of America and Ridgedale, and at Galleria designer shoe boutique Pumpz & Co., where it will continue to be sold. The 3,200-square-foot custom-designed space (the former home of women’s clothing boutique dugo—which relocated to another area of the shopper center) will feature the brand’s signature orange lacquer doors, travertine basketweave floors, white gesso chandeliers, and oak panel walls. Each category of the Tory Burch collection will be represented, including ready-to-wear, handbags, shoes, jewelry, small leather goods, watches, eyewear, and fragrance.

The women’s accessories and apparel brand was launched in 2004 by its namesake—now ranked as one of Forbes‘ power women with an estimated worth of $750 million—and came into popularity a year later thanks to an endorsement from Oprah Winfrey. The New York–based brand is known for its blend of East and West Coast styles that are one part Cape Cod, one part bohemian. One of Burch’s strength is designing wearable clothing that caters to a direct need, be it the work place or holiday weekends.

Tory Burch ias also slated to open a store for its new athleisure offshoot, Tory Sport, at the Mall of America later this fall.
