Nearly a year after opening, Ridgedale's Nordstrom wing is showing new signs of life. In the past week, both Williams-Sonoma and Pottery Barn have opened their doors. It's the fifth Twin Cities location for the kitchenware store and the fourth for the home furnishings and décor retailer.

The new Williams-Sonoma store sets itself apart with a selection of products from Minnesota-based food vendors, making it only the second store in the kitchenware chain to offer a localized assortment. Minnesota-made goods include Annie's Popcorn and Caramels, B.T. nd McElrath Chocolates, Mooselake Wild Rice, Somerskogen Sugarbush Maple Syrup, Duluth Preserving Company, PoorBoy Candy, Pelican Pete's Pistachios, Serious Jams, Triple Crown Organic BBQ Sauce, Ames Farm Honey, Seven Sundays Museli Mix, Isadore Nut Co., and Peace Coffee. The new location also will host ongoing foodie events and cooking classes, with upcoming events including a Williams-Sonoma Cookbook Club meet-up (August 10), a Spiralizer workshop (August 21), and a summer pizza-making party (August 28). And on August 18, the store hosts a grand opening party featuring a meet-and-greet with Spoon and Stable chef/owner Gavin Kaysen, who will be preparing small bites pared with beer, wine, and cocktails during the event. Register for free at eventbrite.com.

Meanwhile, Pottery Barn's new store has been styled into lifestyle displays dedicated to spaces throughout the home including living room, dining, bedroom, bath and outdoor—meant to spark decorating ideas. Like its other locations, the store features the brand’s signature reclaimed-wood barn doors, and offers free in-store and in-home design consultations with design specialists.

Now open, Ridgedale, 12401 Wayzata Blvd, Minnetonka, 952-541-4864, ridgedalecenter.com
