'Kinky Boots' Gets Kinkier

Published:

Ladies, gentlemen and those who’ve yet to make up their mind, gather your friends and get your cocktail-drinking hands ready.

A Minnesota-made product with a not-so-Minnesota name has teamed up with Hennepin Theatre Trust, two Downtown Minneapolis restaurants and the Broadway phenomenon Kinky Boots to bring three sexy mixed drinks to the Twin Cities.

During the show’s Minneapolis run at the Orpheum Theatre this weekend, bartenders at the theatre and the two restaurants are mixing up St. Paul-based KINKY Liqueur drinks with nods to Kinky Boots’ raunchy yet powerful plot. “The Lola,” “Charlie’s Pride” and “A Golden Opportunity” connect directly with the sassy cross-dressing lead Lola, the pessimist-turned-optimist Charlie and the driving force behind the story.

The Lola is a prime representation of KINKY Pink’s flagship vodka (mixed with lemonade and soda water) and Charlie’s Pride uses KINKY Blue’s tart flavor mixed solely with lemonade. While you can sip on these summer-worthy cocktails from the rooftop of CRAVE or in your seat at the Orpheum just a stone’s throw away, A Golden Opportunity is exclusively at the theatre. It showcases the company’s newest fruit fusion KINKY Gold, a tropical blend of peach flavors, and is pulled together by a touch of muddled lime—making it as easy and drinkable as its sister creations.

If you can’t make it to the remaining run of Kinky Boots, you can still cash in on The Lola and Charlie’s Pride at CRAVE and UNION. Better yet, snag the drinks for $5 during their 4-6 p.m. Happy Hour through Friday, July 31 or any time through Sunday, August 2 at their regular price.

Get your tickets for Kinky Boots here.

CRAVE, 825 Hennepin Ave., Minneapolis, MN 55402
