Elizabeth’s Pick: Franklin Street Bakery & Linden Hills Co-op

Published:

Like sugar plums dancing in my head, so go the stories I’ve heard about Franklin Street Bakery: heavenly fruit tarts, fluffy loaves, red velvet cupcakes. But in every drive-by I’ve made past the flagship location, ogling as I went, I never had time to stop. Now that this perennial favorite has opened a second outpost in Edina, I have a chance to slow down and smell the loaves. I’m most chipper about the sandwich board, a shortlist of grilled and cold sandwiches, with at least one veg option among them. The space is yellow and bright, apropos for the Sunnyside Road location.

I’m loving the 44th and France intersection more and more, now that in addition to picking up wine and McClure’s spicy pickles at France 44, and mums at Sunnyside Gardens, I can check off the rest of my shopping list at the gorgeously expanded Linden Hills Co-op, now open in the former Almsted's Sunnyside Market space.
