Taste of the Nation Tickets Still Available? Whoa!

Published:

I’ve known about Taste of the Nation for eons, but never blogged about it because it’s typically the hottest ticket of the year, sells out super-fast, and the net effect of my writing about it is getting a lot of hate-mail along the lines of: ‘Why, why must you taunt us by recommending sold-out events?’ Well, it’s this Sunday and, shockingly, it’s not sold out.

Attendees from prior years can tell you it’s a phenomenally posh night—a five-course meal plated and served tableside by the most important of all the important Twin Cities chefs, including, this year, Seth Bixby Daugherty, one time Food and Wine best new chef in America who will be enjoying a star turn in his former kitchen at Cosmos; and Tim McKee from La Belle Vie, Sea Change and so on; as well as Landon Schoenefeld from Haute Dish, Doug Flicker from Piccolo, Russell Klein from Meritage, and a dozen more chefs who are going to be irked with me for not mentioning them by name. But there are 19 restaurants involved! The Internet can barely hold the excellence of this event.

One hundred percent of all ticket sales go to fight poverty through Share Our Strength. Last year, the event raised more than $60,000—it's the very definition of having fun while doing good. So have some fun and do some good!
