Summer Cocktails

On this week’s Moveable Feast, Rachel and John discussed why right now is the perfect time to ditch your go-to drink and experiment with new fruity flavors.

Save a gin and tonic for home and try the Beet Cosmo at Craftsman, which puts a spin on a classic with infusions of lime and Cointreau, or Icehouse’s Little Richard. The latter is a refreshing rum-berry punch complete with a cutout of the iconic musician floating atop a surface of vanilla cream foam.

And don’t be afraid to experiment on your own. With fresh produce is at its seasonal peak, you simply can’t go wrong. Stop by a local farmer’s market to stock up on fresh fruits—or maybe even veggies—for your next homemade cocktail, experimenting with syrups and garnishes.

Listen to the full podcast on Classical MPR’s site. And tune into next week’s Moveable Feast for a look at how to beat the heat with the metro area’s best takeout menus.
