The self-proclaimed capital hosts an annual Halloween parade large enough justify its status, but if filling up on fun-sized candy bars isn’t your thing, Rachel and John recommend Hans bakery for their Bee-Hive, a custard filled pastry sandwich, or the newer Swedish Crown Bakery, featuring cardamom-flavored sweets. For a less sugary fare, opt for high tea at the Mad Hatter, a historic mansion and one of the few places around to get traditional tea with mini pastries and finger sandwiches. Read more about Anoka’s eateries from Minnesota Monthly‘s food critics Jason DeRusha and Joy Summers.
