This event occurs weekly, on Wednesday and Thursday.
Enjoy a trip back to a more innocent time in our history as New Music Arts presents "Buddy Holly: Not Fade Away." The show features cast members from the IVEY award-winning "Buddy—The Buddy Holly Story" produced at the History Theatre.
Nick Freeman (guitar and vocals) plays Buddy Holly. As the rest of the Crickets, Blake Foster (guitar) plays Sonny Curtis, Zach Spicer (drums) is Jerry Allison and Mitch Benson (bass) plays Joe Maudlin. During the second set, Nick and the band will perform Buddy Holly songs, including "Peggy Sue," That'll Be the Day" and "Not Fade Away."
To start things off, Gary Rue (former music director, arranger and duet partner for Gene Pitney 1986-2006) will offer song selections from Gene Pitney, the Crickets' Sonny Curtis, and Bobby Vee. All three were contemporaries of Buddy Holly. Vee filled in for Buddy Holly on tour after the tragic plane crash.
