As the opener of its 11th season, Consortium Carissimi will present a selection of music marking the 500thAnniversary of the Lutheran Reformation. Featuring works by Heinrich Isaac, Josquin Des Prez, and Johann Hermann Schein, the program will highlight music favored by Martin Luther and the new musical movement that emerged following the Reformation.
Garrick Comeaux, Consortium Carissimi Artistic Director, notes, “This Reformation Anniversary concert program opens our 11th season and is a reprisal of a concert given last February at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church in Minneapolis. It is a pleasure to again have the opportunity to perform this rarely heard music.”
Performances will be held at St. Timothy Lutheran Church on Friday, October 27 at 7:30pm and at Pilgrim Lutheran Church on Saturday, October 28 at 7:30pm.
