Frebella is excited to announce the first ever Frebella Music Festival on September 22 at Lions Park in Victoria. This all-ages event will be hosted by Mark Wheat from 89.3 The Current and will include live music from HALEY (née Haley Bonar), The Cactus Blossoms, White Iron Band, Little Fevers, and We are the Willows.
The day will also include mental wellness activities for all ages, incredible food, and refreshing beer, all to benefit The Emily Program Foundation.
Frebella is rooted in eighteen years of tradition, a close-knit community bonded together by love and support, grown from an annual camping trip with friends. "We were just kids when we lost two of our dear friends, Anna Westin from an eating disorder and Jeff Peterson, a sudden accident," said David Annis, co-founder of Frebella. “We didn't know what else to do but to find a way to be together and help each other heal. Frebella has taught us that grief and, in turn, mental wellness is a lifelong journey that affects everyone.”
“Now that we’re a little older and have some resources and kids of our own, we agreed it was time to impact a greater community," said Mike Atwood, co-founder of Frebella. "Our goal is to raise money and awareness for an organization fighting for mental wellness like The Emily Program Foundation in honor of Anna and Jeff.”
“We are so honored that the first ever Frebella Fest will support the work we do to empower prevention, support recovery, and advocate for legislative change,” said Lisa Radzak, executive director, The Emily Program Foundation. “We are ambitious to increase prevention of eating disorders and help more people battling this complex mental illness find recovery. We’re grateful for the generous support from Frebella Fest, and for its emphasis on community and action for mental health.”
