This event occurs weekly, on Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
The holiday tradition of gingerbread houses, called pepperkake in Norway, will be on display this holiday season at Norway House. Help us celebrate by creating a special piece to display – a local Twin Cities landmark or fun structure you adore – or just come to admire, as dozens of creations are on exhibit for this multi-generational, magically festive event. Invite family and friends to join you in baking an exhibit piece, or spark a friendly competition for bragging rights. Gingerbread Wonderland also includes special displays from renowned local bakers. Professional submissions will be judged by a respected panel, and a “People’s Choice” award will honor the structure most admired by attendees.
The “Best of Show” award will be selected from all exhibit entries by local food experts Kim Ode, cookbook author and Star Tribune “Taste” contributor; Nancy Ngo, award-winning journalist and food and lifestyle reporter for the St. Paul Pioneer Press; and Sue Zelickson, James Beard award winner and founder of the Charlie Awards, Women Who Really Cook and the Minneapolis and St. Louis Park Kids Cafes.
Exhibit open from Saturday, Nov. 17, 2018, through Sunday, Jan. 6, 2019. Norway House hours are Tuesday-Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (open until 6 p.m. Thursday), and Sunday 11 a.m. to 3 pm. Closed Mondays and Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
Free for children 12 and under; $5 for adults and seniors
