Academy of Russian Ballet Summer Dance Programs offer comprehensive training in Russian classical ballet technique (Vaganova syllabus) and skills development.
For four hours each day, dancers will participate in ballet class focusing on the barre, center work and jumps, Pointe work, and variations from classical ballets such as “Sleeping Beauty” “Giselle” “Corsair” and many more. Students will continuing classes such as Contemporary, Modern and Aerial Ballet, Character dance and partnering.
With unique knowledge of the Vaganova Method, guest teachers and faculty staff will emphasize basic stance and correct placement, turnout, aplomb, epaulment and port de bras as well as simple batterie and turns on two legs and on one leg. An exciting opportunity to increase skill, knowledge, technique, and endurance.
Guest Teacher: Nikolay Morschakov
Mr. Nikolay Morschakov graduated with honors from the Saratov State Choreographic Academy, Russia in 1995. Immediately after, he was selected for Grigorovich Ballet as a Soloist dancer. Elevated to principal dancer in 1999 and featured many leading and solo roles. In 2003 he joined Sarasota Ballet of Florida as a principal dancer.
Since 2005, Mr. Morschakov had been a principal dancer, ballet master, and a choreographer with Dance Alive National Ballet Company. In 2008, he became a freelance dancer and a private ballet instructor. Mr. Morschakov is a Laureate of the Philip Morris International Ballet Competition in 1999 and 2001. During his career he performed in Russia, USA, Portugal, Spain, Japan, Italy, Germany, Lebanon, and Turkey.
