The 38th annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Tribute will take place on Sunday, January 20, 2019, 3:00-4:30 PM at Ted Mann Concert Hall.
The University of Minnesota will host this not to be missed multi-disciplinary celebration intermixing the words of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. with musical performances. The program, curated by U of M alumnus G. Phillip Shoultz, III of VocalEssence, will feature VocalEssence Singers Of this Age; Ginger Commodore; Jacob Dodd; Brian A. Grandison; Madalyn McCurdy, granddaughter of Reginald Buckner; Karla Nweje; Chadwick “Niles” Phillips; Atosha Rypa; U of M student brass ensemble; Harry Waters, Jr.; and a special appearance by Minneapolis Council Vice President Andrea Jenkins.
