In preparation of Chef Camp, the northwoods culinary retreat located at YMCA Camp Miller, Meritage is hosting an exclusive preview dinner in downtown Saint Paul. The dinner will offer diners a preview of the rustic, wood-fired flavor of Chef Camp. The September 1-3 session of Chef Camp is nearly sold out, however tickets are still available for September 8-10.
Executive Chef, Jason Engelhart of Meritage will collaborate with Lowry Hill Meats on the family-style, three-course seasonal feast, featuring a spit-roasted whole goat. Ingredients for starters, sides and desserts will be sourced from the Saint Paul Farmer’s Market that morning, showcasing the freshest produce of the season. Dave Friedman and James Norton, founders of Chef Camp will be on hand to speak more about the ins and outs of their culinary camp. Chef Engelhart will be a chef-instructor at the first session of Chef Camp, along with Erik Sather of Lowry Hill Meats.
