Marjorie Wade of Afton, MN, is a studio potter working with stoneware, porcelain and earthenware clays. She earned degrees in psychology and sociology from St. Cloud (MN) State University in 1978. She began her formal studies of ceramics in 1998 and has taken numerous clay classes, programs and workshops including post-baccalaureate studies in ceramics at the University of Wisconsin—River Falls.
“Spirit is present in the pottery of primitive times and cultures. Those pots exude a life, an energy which carries through to today and influences my work.”
Diana Hatchitt has a BFA in Printmaking from Indiana University, Minor in Art History in 1998-2006. She has exhibited at numerous galleries as well as traveling international shows through Print Zero Studios and Oregon Ink Spot. Hatchitt has worked under several Master Printers -Carol Wax, Michael Barnes and Rosalie Bernardi- printing editions in methods of lithography, solar etching and mezzotints. Her mezzotints have been published in the Print Catalog titled, "A Survey of Contemporary Printmaking 50/50". Hatchitt is also a member of Stillwater Art Guild, ArtReach St Croix and Mid- America Print Council.
“I find inspiration for my work in nature, from my gardens, on daily walks. Each season provides expressive moments to capture on paper. I am particularly drawn to organic forms which lend themselves well to the printing matrix. Manipulating the plate to bring an idea and image to surface is a completely fulfilling and creative artistic experience.”
