Concert organist Kola Owolabi will present a recital in the Chapel of St. Thomas Aquinas on Sunday, September 24 at 3 pm. A native of Toronto, Kola Owolabi is Associate Professor of Organ at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. His free concert on the 56-rank Gabriel Kney tracker organ will include works of Muffat, Cabanilles, Correa de Arauxo, Bach, Handel, Decker, Hampton, and Duruflé. A reception will follow the concert.
The UST Music Department sponsors the Organ Artist Concert Series, which for the past thirty years has brought in US and international artists to perform on St. Thomas’ renowned pipe organ. Excerpts from many of these concerts have been broadcast on Pipedreams, the nationally-syndicated pipe organ show produced by Michael Barone for American Public Media.
