FREE Theater Workshop & Children's Show!
Everyone will be able to afford the admission price to SPARK theater + dance’s latest production—one simply has to bring a playful spirit and a big imagination. SPARK theater + dance, led by artistic directors Betsy and Corey Mills, will be offering a free workshop of games and creative movement as well as a free children’s show designed as an ideal introduction to the theater for families with children ages 3-8 and up. The 45-minute workshop for kids ages 5-8 and their caregivers will be followed by a free performance of SPARK’S original children’s play, The Supercilious Ways of Walter Wading.
The Supercilious Ways of Walter Wading, a 40-minute physical comedy, features the crazy antics of three woodland sprites as they bounce with yoga balls and defy gravity while trying to convince their stoic friend Walter to come and play.
The SPARK theater + dance workshop and The Supercilious Ways of Walter Wading show will take place on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at Powderhorn Recreation Center, 3400 - 15th Ave So, Minneapolis 55407. The workshop for kids ages 5-8 and their caregivers begins at 10:00am, followed by the show at 11:00am. Metro Transit routes include 14, 21, 22 & 5. Powderhorn Recreation Center is ADA accessible.
This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Metropolitan Regionals Arts Council, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
