Nick Earl

Earl is a potter who lives in Stillwater, MN. He received his BA in Art from the University of Vermont, Burlington in 2011, and apprenticed with potter Dick Cooter in Two Harbors, MN from 2012-2014. Nick currently maintains his studio at the Abnet Farm eight miles north of Stillwater, MN. His wheel-thrown pots are influenced by Korean, Japanese and English folk pottery, as well as by nature, food and a wabi sabi philosophy.

“I make pots and am continually fascinated by the softness and reception of the clay from which they are made. When successful, these qualities translate into the finished pieces, objects that will hopefully enrich the regular ceremonies of life.”

Sandra Peterson

Sandra Peterson’s paintings revolve around the portrayal of wild animals: lions, cheetahs, leopards, wolves, zebras, elephants and other fauna, but her animals are not merely illustrative depictions of these creatures, her animals hint at the projection of psychological elements. One might say each animal in her work has a subtle link to some human emotion.

“The spirit of animals inspired the earliest Americans, and they continue to form an important part of our collective imagination even in modern times. I personally experience this influence, which is both sublime and universal. I hope to visually connect and integrate their timeless forms with key elements and themes in the wider environment, politically and humanistically.”
