This event occurs daily, every weekday.
The Martha Bennett Gallery is hosting an exhibit that challenges its visitors to question assumptions about their own lives and the systems in which they operate. The exhibition will feature artwork and objects that explore such topics as religion, gender, politics, race, power, hunger, ecology, war and privilege. Challenging Assumptions begins Thursday, Oct. 11 with a reception from 5 to 7:30 p.m. that is open to the public and will take place in the gallery, located on the Blake Upper School campus (511 Kenwood Parkway, Minneapolis).
The exhibition, which features paintings, sculpture, photographs, ceramics, textiles, drawings, prints, posters, video, and decorative and functional objects, will run through Nov. 16. The public is invited to visit the gallery on weekdays between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m.
Challenging Assumptions is part of the annual Blake Collects exhibition, which features artwork owned and submitted by members of the greater Blake community. The exhibit presents a different theme each year.
