The Mississippi River Fund is hosting a series of River Action Volunteer Events (RAVEs) throughout the summer and into the fall. RAVEs include a restoration service project with an adventure tour led by a National Park Ranger. Volunteers will explore the river and learn about significant wildlife and cultural features, while giving back to the community!
For the Canoe RAVE on Northern Island, participants will explore the northern area of the Mississippi River National Park, making stops on two small river islands to do habitat restoration. This part of the park is wilder than the lower reaches, so the islands have greater need for volunteer restoration work.
All public RAVEs are free but registration is required.
