PHOTO NATION: Photography in the United States

Mar 2, 2013 to Jun 30, 2013

PHOTO NATION presents photographs from the Weisman Art Museum’s collection that showcase the development of photography in the United States. The exhibition explores the rapid evolution of photography from the nineteenth century to the present, as both a form of fine art and as a social tool. Viewers are invited to contemplate photography’s significant role in developing a national identity, and follow its quest in becoming a “legitimate” art form in the eyes of critics.
