Resilience Expert Dr. Steven Southwick to Visit The Marsh

On Tuesday, May 7, resilience expert Dr. Steven Southwick will visit The Marsh to present "Resilience: How to Bounce Back from Loss and Continue to Grow." Dr. Southwick is co-author of Resilience: The Science of Mastering Life's Greatest Challenges and he's a Professor of Psychiatry, PTSD and Resilience at Yale University School of Medicine and at the Yale Child Study Center. He has worked more than two decades with trauma survivors.

In his lecture he'll discuss effective coping strategies used by highly resilient individuals to deal with, overcome, and grow from adversity. He will also present recent research that supports the use of these strategies, as well as practical approaches for increasing one's own resilience.

Dr. Southwick's presentation will mark the 28th anniversary of The Marsh. This event is open to the public. Tickets are available at or by calling 952-935-2202.
